HabboHut Forum Referral Contest
Proposal Brief
Members of the forum tell their friends to register at HabboHut.COM forum and refer the member that invited them. Person with the most referrals at the end of the month wins something.
Promotional Benefits
More active forum. More members on the forum. Basicly, more involvement between Habbos and HabboHut Forum.
Event Dates/Times
At the start of each month,,, durates throughout the month. So, we start at the beginning at the month and at the end of the month, we check who has most referrals.

I think it'd sound great for a month-to-month referral competition.
Hopefully staff will approve.

I like this idea a lot. There are a few issues, with users trying to register multiple accounts in order to get the prize, but we can always trace these down by IP addresses.

Ye, lol, I have a vb forum too. Sooo lol. Any other probs? Maybe we can start at the middle of the month if admins approve.

I'll work over the weekend with a few comps. It's easy to give prizes like 50 credits on any hotels thanks to Becs, but I'll check it over with her and see what we can do.
I own at referall comps :p
On the think help forum, they were giving away a dino for most referals, so I like won that by a mile with over 153 referals :D

Ok, just checked how it works through the Admin CP, and it's really simple. Basically, we have this open for (this value for discussion sake) one month. Board Admins can just enter the timeframe we want to get the number of referrals for, and we get shown a list, in order of who has the most amount of referrals, of users who have brought members to the team. So I'm thinking once the month is over, we check the member who has the most referrals, cross check the IP addresses (make sure there's nothing fishy). If that all clears, he wins however credits we're allowed to give out from Becs, plus can be part of a snazzy 'Competition Winners' usergroup (coloured name, more PMs ect)

I think there might be something in the vBulletin Options on your Admin CP that allows (if checked) or disallows (if not checked or something) users to make multiple accounts.
I'll check that on my vb and give you an update on where so that you guys don't need to check up on the IP's.
And maybe we could add a category in the forum for Competitions or something.

There's an extent to how far Becs' goodness goes :P It would only be a certain amount of credits on one hotel for one person, not a whole lot of persons.

Not really. vB by default doesn't let you create more than one user with the same email address, but that's about it. Doesn't stop creating more users by IP address.

Ok, so then we get 1 winner on the Hotel of the winners choice.
And, we it's easier to check emails than addresses.
There might be an addon for vb that we can add to the forum.
And I still think there is something in the Admin CP that lets you allow or disallow users to create mulitple accounts with email and/or IP address.
This will start either in the middle of this month, or at the end of January.
I'd like to start on the 15th of January. So if a admin can post something or something in the announcements or some special comp forum, then that'd be fine. And maybe some little announcement or something on the home page to boost publicity so that we can get more people.
I personally think that there are more people who visit the site than the forum.
There are sites like this but their forum is more populated than the site.
I'd rather see more forum users talking on the forum than more people looking at the site lol. Well, more listeners, whilst on the forum.

This is one of the best competition you can make for a forum. Because firstly, you are promoting the forum, and you are getting the community involved.
VB is a very powerful forum, so you can definitly trace the users to make sure that people are not cheating.
I will be looking forward to seeing this competition soon :).

I beleave this will be fun and it will get things going,
Messages like "www.habbohut.com/board" and register with sutch and sutch as the refferal"
i think we should now start advertising the radio somehow a bit more on the forum or even, the main site on the forum because we will probs get a bit more users going directly like to the forum becuse peapole tell them to,
I think this idea is a good idea and one of the best for a forum :)

Lately when im djing I do advertise the forum hoping people will join, or at least have a look, not sure if anyone is tho.

Ye, we should try & get the DJ's to advertise the forum more.
On my shows, I sometimes tell them about the forum, and tell them to join. =]

I personally do not like the referal competition because it gives certain people ego tripps... but its a group thing so maybe have a vote? Can we have a poll pls :)
BUT I do agree that we should mention more about the forum on air. This could help raise the stats - and maybe listners.

So for them to count as a refferal they should meet a certain post count, that way we know they wont just create an account then run.
