I assume you're talking about (as they call it on wikipedia) vandalism.

Many cases of vandalism are quickly reverted by people with rollback rights using a special program that reports suspicious contributions. The first case of vandalism usually results in the user getting a message of caution on their talk page which tries to introduce them to wikipedia while informing them why their edit was reverted. The next few instances will result in the user getting higher level warnings. Once the user reaches the 5th level (I'm pretty sure it's 5th) it's usually suggested that they receive a temporary block from editing wikipedia.

It's an interesting process. :P

Yeah.. I had a lot of extra time last year.

It changes temporarily, but all changes are sent to "Moderators".

Our school is banned from wikipedia editing as one of my freinds changed the London wiki page to .. "Jimmy bob can not see dogs but the yellow emo can. stupid sally." It was funny!
