Hey everyone

Even though I posted this in April, I didn't get a very good outcome. Maybe I might this time...

About 5 months ago, or 6, can't be bothered to count now, my computer randomly shut down. It didn't want to get past the loading page for 2 weeks. When it finally wanted to start, I got it started, but with one catch... when I plugged in my headset, I couldn't hear music on SAM Broadcaster, people on skype etc. I tested my friends headset on my computer and it still didn't work. :boom

People say different things. Soundcard issues or driver issues is what i've had. What do you think?

Can you hear sound through your speakers?

Nathan.

Nope. I don't even have speakers because I like to keep everything private, and not screaming across the house so...

If you're referring to the headset speakers, still no.

Im not really an expert at this but im going to try and help.

Have you tried taking the Soundcard out and putting it back in. That worked for my friend.

So you can't find the soundcard in your tower?

Nathan.

that's correct.

Could you post a picture of inside your tower, and do you know what soundcard you have?

Nathan.

I can't get a pic right now, but i'll get one ASAP, and I have no idea what soundcard it is, as it's like 5 years old & I've obviously now lost the details.

Ok, when you post the picture I may be able to spot it.

Try this.

Uninstall your soundcard drivers.
Shut your machine down and remove your soundcard.
Restart your machine without the soundcard.
Shutdown and reinstall your soundcard in a different slot.

Haha, It doesn't work on skype or HabboHut either, so that's not the problem I'm sure.

Your soundcard could possibly be built into the motherboard, thus making it impossible to remove. I think it's time for a new computer, anyway. :P

Haha, yeah, I know that :P... One problem, because we're moving in like December, dad doesn't want to get another one until we move into the new house :P
