A season-ending injury leads to No.8 Illinois' volleyball team in fear. Laura Debruler (Illinois' MVP volleyball player) took a fatal blow to her left knee.
Although, despite Laura's incident, the team as a whole must stay focused, heading into the NCAA tournament. "I like the potential of this group. Our goals haven't changed. Certainly we're in a race to win the Big Ten, and if you can win the Big Ten, then you've got to feel you can go deep into the tournament," No.8 Illinois' volleyball coach states.
After an MRI exam Monday, it was confirmed that Debruler suffered a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee. This was the news that both the team and coach had feared the most.
-School record-holder for career kills (1,833) and career attacks (4,806)
-Most 20-kill matches (36) in program history
-Ranks seventh in illini career digs (1,117)
