Beginning on the 1st of March 2012 Habbohut will be adopting a brand new set of rules that will allow our moderators to much more easily enforce the rules, as well as making it easier for our community members to understand our rules.
Firstly, we've removed quite a number of the rules for one of two major reasons. The first is that the rule is simply not needed, or that it can be just as easily put into one of our existing rules in one sentence. The second, is that we've covered only the content that breaks the rules, and have removed many of the older "we encourage you" rules that were simply taking up page space.

This will make it much easier for users to disrupt infractions, and it will make it much easier for our moderating team to issue infractions given that all infractions will be specific and easy to understand.
Finally, our entire set of "policies" for privacy and site use will be revised, simplified and made shorter where possible. These "policies" will simply be called "Terms of Use" and will be added onto this thread in a new reply once completed (this should be done within 24 hours).

Users
U1: Multiple Accounts - Do not create multiple accounts, any accounts seen to belong to an existing account will be banned.
U2: Evading a Ban - Do not, in any way, avoid a ban that has been issued.
U3: Reporting Posts - Please report any content you see that is breaking our rules and allow our moderating team to handle it. Having said that, do not abuse the ‘post report’ feature. Spamming or purposely abusing the feature will result in an infraction.
Personal Information
PI1: Personal Information not belonging to you - It’s against our rules to release personal information belonging to others. This includes (but is not limited to) passwords, e-mail addresses, messenger contacts, personal photos, location information and phone numbers. (See P2 for rules concerning the publishing of your own Personal Information)
PI2: Personal Information belonging to you - It’s acceptable to publish your own personal details. This includes (but is not limited to) photos, social networking accounts and e-mail address. All published content cannot be used for identification purposes. All content can be removed upon request to our Moderation Team.
Posting Rules
PR1: Content Creation - Do not post links to inappropriate websites, videos, or images. Our Moderators reserve the right to remove any links posted throughout the site. Do not post links to:
• Site’s containing viruses, trojans or spyware.
• Site’s containing content that breaks any of of the rules of Habbohut Forum, or the Fansite Way.
You may post links to unofficial fansites (please do not publish links to other discussion forums) aslong as all discussion is published within the “Website Showcase” forum.
PR2: Swearing, Offensive Terms and The Filter - Certain explicit words on our forums are filtered, please do not avoid this filter. This includes inserting “.” and BB code to try and avoid the filter. Users will not be infracted for any words that are not in our filter, although we will maintain it at our own discretion.
It is not allowed to personally attack any user of Habbohut (website and forum). There is nothing wrong with having an opinion (whether good or bad) and publishing that opinion, but personally attacking users is not tolerated.
Moderate swearing within video’s and images is allowed provided all content is within a “spoiler” tag alerting users who may become offended by such content. If there is no spoiler posted around content then such content will be removed. Moderators have the right to remove any content they deem to be inappropriate or offensive.
PR3: Spam - Spam is only allowed in our Spam boards. All comments deemed to be spam will be deleted and all users who continually post off-topic messages will be warned or infracted. Threads or posts made in the incorrect forum will be simply moved without punishment.
PR4: Reputation System - We reserve the right to remove any given reputation for any users account. This includes pointless and abusive remarks made through reputation comments.
PR5: Images - Please do not publish images that are exceedingly large or annoying. Management and our moderators will determine what’s appropriate using discretion. If you have questions about this rule, please contact our Forum Manager.
PR6: Chatbox - Do not spam the chatbox, spamming is considered four sequential posts in a row. Please note that all rules still apply within the Chatbox.
Illegal Activity
I1: Hacking and Scripting - Do not attempt to brute force, hack, or script any site or feature on Habbohut.com (this includes the main website, and all attached sub-directories).
I2: Attachments - Do not upload executable files (Windows - .exe, Mac - .dmg). Please post a link to the featured website instead.
Fansite Way
We be observe the fansite way, which means we must not:
• Offer Hacking, Scripting or Editing Programs.
• Publish any unreleased news regarding updates, new furni or features without Sulake's prior permission.
• Ask visitors for their Habbo passwords or personal information such as telephone numbers or home address.
• Charge users for premium services such as VIP access.
• Act as an affiliate for a commercial entity, nor offer merchandise (including Habbo furni) or services for sale.
• Offer to buy, sell or trade Habbo accounts for real money or Habbo Credits.
• Break the law or talk others into breaking it.
• Publish any material which may be offensive to other users or contains sexual content.
• Publish any material which may be offensive to other users or contains sexual content.
• Publish any personal information, pictures, video or documents belonging to Sulake Corporation Oy.
• Use slander or any other form of bullying in order to harass other people.Disrupt the operation of any other official or unofficial fansite nor disrupt the Hotel community.

• Replicate any part of the Habbo Hotel service ('Retro' Hotels, Habbo Home clones etc).
